I am very happy to announce that my composition Snow has won the Caritas International Emerging Composer Composition Competition 2018!

The winning piece has been chosen with a combination of votes from the audience, the choir, ITV News and the judge Ragnar Bohlin which vote counted two.

Wow! It has been a wonderful day!

My composition has got totally three votes from ITV News and Ragnar Bohlin!

M° Bohlin, when announcing my piece as the winner justifying his vote, he sat down on the piano explaining to the audience my piece by analysing it, underlining the features he liked about it. Thought this was really helpful and unique for a competition.

I congratulate all the finalists. Thought there were really good pieces and met good composers!

Last, but definitely not least I wish to thanks a lot Caritas Chamber Choir and Benedict Preece for the organisation of this unique competition and their unlimited passion and work studying, rehearsing and performing for months six brand new compositions. A true act to sustain composers and the production of new choral music.

Thank you all!

By winning this competition Snow will be recorded later this year and I became Caritas Composer of the Year, which means that I will be commissioned writing new compositions for the Caritas Chamber Choir this year. I am very looking forward to this!

So I guess there will be updates soon! 😉
